Ah, galentine's day. A wondrous day brought to us by Leslie Knope. Now that I'm writing this, I think I've only celebrated it once with friends since hearing about, but nevertheless I always celebrate in spirit. Granted, most of my close girl friends are back home in Indy or other places for school, but there's never a wrong time to appreciate your relationships with amazing women. This year I don't have plans yet for Valentine's Day either except maybe watching rom-coms eating chocolate in my bed, but you never know!
Whether you're having a chill hang or going out for drinks, this outfit is a great alternative to wear for your night. I'm absolutely obsessed with this sleeves, they're so fun and warrant comments from a lot of people (my favorite so far: a man on the subway in NYC who asked "are you a dancer?"). I also love these comfy striped pants, risky as they may seem being white, the stripes detract from constant anxiety while wearing them. Plus, wide leg pants are very in right now, they make things less boring by playing with proportions. Then there are the socks and shoes. To keep from your feet freezing while wearing a great pair of strappy block heels, I paired them with these sparkly black socks that I think everyone (*avid Topshop shoppers) own by now. I ran out the door before I got to put on my necklace, but a chocker would compliment the high neckline on this shirt.
If you're one of the lucky ones and actually going out for a Valentine's Day celebration, easily swap out the pants for either a more structured pant, or a black skirt. If you're feelin' crazy, do a little color blocking and pair it with a pastel pink skirt, festive for the occasion. I know it's tempting to think you have to wear high stiletto heels, you can still look fashionable and hot by wearing a shorter pair of heels that won't leave your feet bleeding by the end of the night.
